Edgar Cui
Finance manager. I build the finance systems I wish every team had.
Seven years in finance across manufacturing and retail, with a computer-science foundation. I take a business from its ERP to dashboards an auditor can trace — reporting pipelines, approval-to-ERP automation and reconciliation tools in Python and SQL.
Experience
Reconciled and signed off.

What I bring
Four accounts, one ledger.
Finance & control
Month-end close, reconciliations, cost accounting, internal controls, management reporting, indirect tax, vendor due diligence.
ERP & data
SAP Business One on HANA, SQL, Python and pandas, ETL pipelines, data quality checks, data migration, REST APIs.
Reporting
Metabase dashboards and semantic layers built for store managers and executives, not only for analysts.
Automation
Approval workflows, scheduled jobs, low-code platforms, Git, Docker, automated tests and AI-assisted development.
Selected work
Private repositories. Demos on request.
- From ERP to hundreds of dashboards
- A nightly snapshot pipeline from SAP Business One into a reporting database, feeding dashboards for sales, purchasing, inventory, receivables, HR and fleet, with a view for every store manager.
- Approval-to-ERP posting
- Approved invoices post to the ERP through its API with idempotency keys, draft-then-post controls and verified bank accounts — nothing posts twice, nothing pays an unchecked account.
- Event-driven quant engine
- Backtester, risk manager, kill switch, idempotent order router and broker reconciler. Paper-first; live trading sits behind configuration and a person's approval.
- US market command centre
- A read-only dashboard with a market-regime light, a four-layer screening funnel, a sell-signal engine and session-aware alerts.
How I work
Seven rules from audit practice.
- Money is calculated with Decimal, never with floating point.
- Raw exports are read-only. Work happens on copies.
- Every number traces back to its source and formula.
- Core logic is tested before anyone relies on it.
- No system moves real money without a person approving it.
- Secrets never live in code.
- AI drafts; I audit.
